Guatemala El Pilar

El Pilar was founded in 1990 by Benito Avila, nearby the Chi Que Beiqueiej River, which stands for "Path For Horses". In addition to being near this river, ths farm contains three water springs, which is vital to the wet mill process and quality of coffee. Containing both varietals of Bourbon & Pache, this farm encompasses nearly 16 hectars of land, two-thirds of which is used for coffee planting, the remaining third taken up by a forest reserve, which also helps with shading during the coffee growing process. This coffee is both sweet and citrusy, containing nutty tasting notes, as well as a mild amount of acidity.
