When Luis Joaquin was 13 years old, his father started growing coffee at Finca Bella Aurora and this was the start of his connection to the world of coffee. Even though he was still quite young, Luis loved to help his father with the production of the coffee, and it proved to be a fantastic learning expertise for him. Since then, Luis considers that each year in this journey is completely different. Each year is full of challenges and adventures. He says his main incentive to start producing specialty coffee was to work with the Associación de Café Especial de Nueva Segovia and with the Cup of Excellence.
We discovered Finca Bella Aurora through this prestigious
coffee auction, the Cup of Excellence, which
rewards coffee producers for growing exceptional quality.
In 2017, we purchased our first lot from Luis which became an
instant classic for us. Due to high demand from our customers,
and by being amazed by the quality presented to us, we
partnered with Luis to purchase triple the quantity in comparison to last year.
This particular crop offers notes of sweet chocolate and maple syrup with a phenomenally smooth finish.
